Mexican Fruit Fly (MxFF)

CDFA trapper Roberto Sanchez found an unmated female Mexican fruit fly on December 18, 1998, in a McPhail trap along L Street. The trap was placed in a sapote.

The McPhail trap density in the area was ten traps per square mile. In response CDFA will increase the McPhail trap density to 80 traps per square mile in the CORE square mile.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Kevin Hoffman made the determination.
