Oriental Fruit Fly (OFF) Los Angeles County Alhambra Two Oriental fruit flies were trapped on November 21, 1998, in Alhambra. Both finds are within the Alhambra OFF male annihilation treatment area. One of the flies was an unmated female OFF that was discovered in a McPhail trap placed in a lemon tree along South 3rd Street. The second fly was a sexually immature male OFF that was found in a Jackson/methyl eugenol trap placed in a sapote along South 2nd Street. Both finds are on or near properties that OFF have previously been trapped. CDFA inspector Phil Vega is credited with finding both OFF. The trap density in the area of both finds is 25 Jackson/methyl
eugenol and McPhail traps per square mile.
