Oriental Fruit Fly (OFF) Los Angeles County City Terrace Los Angeles County Department of Agriculture trapper Mario Garcia found a female OFF on November 16, 1998, in a McPhail trap that was placed along Winter Street. The trap had been placed in a guava. The trap density at the time of the find was five McPhail traps per square mile. In response, CDFA will increase the trap density to 25 Jackson/methyl eugenol and McPhail traps in the CORE square mile. CDFA Insect Biosystematist Kevin Hoffman determined that the female OFF was unmated but sexually mature.
