Peach Fruit Fly (PFF)

On November 12, 1998, one male peach fruit fly (PFF) was found by Contra Costa trapper Barbara Glenn. The PFF was found in a Jackson/methyl eugenol trap deployed in a apple tree along Marlesta Road.

The trap density in the area was five Jackson/methyl eugenol traps per square mile. In response to the find, CDFA will increase the Jackson/methyl eugenol and McPhail trap densities to 25 traps per square mile in the core square mile area around the find.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Eric Fisher made the determination.
