Peach Fruit Fly (PFF) Contra Costa County Pinole On November 12, 1998, one male peach fruit fly (PFF) was found by Contra Costa trapper Barbara Glenn. The PFF was found in a Jackson/methyl eugenol trap deployed in a apple tree along Marlesta Road. The trap density in the area was five Jackson/methyl eugenol traps per square mile. In response to the find, CDFA will increase the Jackson/methyl eugenol and McPhail trap densities to 25 traps per square mile in the core square mile area around the find. CDFA Insect Biosystematist Eric Fisher made the determination.
