While servicing a Jackson/methyl eugenol trap on October 5, 1998, CDFA Inspector Jimmy Ramirez found one male OFF. The trap had been placed at a residence along East Kara Avenue.

The trap density at the time of the find was five Jackson/methyl eugenol and five McPhail traps per square mile. In response, CDFA will raise the Jackson/methyl eugenol and McPhail trap densities to 25 traps per square mile in the core square mile around the find.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Kevin Hoffman made the determination.
