Japanese Beetle (JB)

On September 2, 1998, one dead male JB was found on board a Delta Airlines aircraft originating in Cincinnati, Ohio. CDFA inspectors Rick Sauber and Ray Frerking are credited with finding the JB at Los Angeles International Aiport.

San Mateo County

San Bruno

CDFA inspector Robert Blackiston also found one dead male JB on board a USPS aircraft at San Francisco International Airport on August 12, 1998. The flight originated in Indianapolis, Indiana.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Fred G. Andrews and Terry N. Seeno made the determinations.
