Sonoma County trapper Renee Milligan found one male GM while servicing Delta/GM traps on July 30, 1998. The trap was placed in an ash tree along Vanessa Way.

The Delta/GM trap density in the area was three traps per square mile. In response to the find, Sonoma County Department of Agriculture will increase the Delta/GM trap density to 25 traps per square mile in a four-square-mile area around the find.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Tom Eichlin made the determination.
