Japanese Beetle (JB) Alameda County Oakland On July 14, CDFA inspectors Paul Grazzini and Craig Faria found one dead male JB at Oakland International Airport. The JB was found on board UPS Aircraft originating in Louisville, KY. Los Angeles County Burbank CDFA inspector Candice Erickson found one dead male JB on July 13 at Los Angeles International Airport. The JB was found on board Delta Airlines aircraft originating in Philadelphia, PA. Sacramento County Sacramento One dead female JB was found on July 23 at Sacramento International Airport. CDFA inspector Connie Weiner discovered the JB on board Federal Express aircraft originating in Indianapolis, IN. San Diego County Lindbergh Field On July 20, one dead male JB was discovered on board American Airlines aircraft originating in New York City, NY. CDFA inspector Larry Randall is credited with finding the JB at Lindbergh Field Airport. San Mateo County San Bruno One dead female JB was found by CDFA inspector Laura Irons on July 22. Irons discovered the JB at San Francisco International Airport on board American Airlines aircraft originating in Boston, MA. Santa Clara County San Jose CDFA inspector Andrew De Borba found nine dead JB, five male and four female, while inspecting American Airlines aircraft at San Jose International Airport on July 14. The flight originated in Chicago, IL. CDFA Insect Biosystematist Fred G. Andrews made the determinations.
