Oriental Fruit Fly (OFF)

While servicing traps on July 20, CDFA trapper Jim Crawford found one male OFF in a Jackson/methyl eugenol trap on Fairfax Avenue. The trap was placed in a kumquat tree.

The trap density was 5 Jackson/methyl eugenol traps per square mile. In response, CDFA will raise the Jackson/methyl eugenol and McPhail trap densities to 25 traps per square mile in the core square mile.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Kevin Hoffman made the determination.
