Japanese Beetle (JB)

One adult male JB was found by Kern County trapper Mary Moreno on July 8. The trap was placed on turf along Bush Street. CDFA and County have concerns about the origin of this beetle.

The Japanese Beetle trap density in the area was 2 traps per square mile. The response was to raise the Japanese Beetle trap density to 25 traps in the square mile area around the find.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Fred G. Andrews made the determination.
