Oriental Fruit Fly (OFF)

On July 1, one male OFF was found in a Jackson/methyl eugenol trap by CDFA trapper Nicolas Rodriguez at a residence along Utah Avenue. The trap was placed in an apricot tree.

The trap density was 5 Jackson/methyl eugenol traps per square mile. In response, CDFA will raise the Jackson/methyl eugenol and McPhail trap densities to 25 traps per square mile in the core area.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Kevin Hoffman made the determination.
