Mexican Fruit Fly (MxFF)

One sexually immature male MxFF was found by San Diego County trapper Kahsai Ghebretnsea on June 12 in a McPhail trap along Crooked Creek Court. The trap was placed in a peach tree.

The trap density in the area was ten McPhail traps per square mile. In response, the McPhail trap density will be
increased to an 80-40 trap array in the nine square mile area around the find.

CDFA Insect Biosystematist Eric Fisher made the determination.
