Aleurothrixus floccosus

I. FOREWORD

There is reasonable cause to believe that any shipment of plants and plant parts of all species and varieties of the genera Citrus and Psidium (Guava) are hosts and possible carriers of woolly whitefly, Aleurothrixus floccosus, from the woolly whitefly infested area and may be infested with woolly white fly. Any such shipment of commodities may be rejected unless found free from woolly whitefly or treated under the supervision of the destination agricultural commissioner (Section 6521 and 6523, Food and Agricultural Code).

II. ENFORCING COUNTIES

Fresno, Glenn, Imperial, Kern, Madera, Riverside (Area east of the range line between R1W and R2W including Beaumont, Banning, Coachella Valley, Desert Center, and Palo Verde Valley), Tulare and San Bernardino County desert areas.

III. WOOLLY WHITEFLY INFESTED AREA

The entire counties of Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Ventura, and portions of Riverside and San Bernardino County.

IV. HOSTS AND POSSIBLE CARRIERS

All plants and plant parts of all species and varieties of the genera Citrus and Psidium (Guava).

V. EXEMPTED ARTICLES

No restrictions are placed on the movement of commodities covered which are completely defoliated prior to movement from the infested area provided that balled plants must be so defoliated after being balled. However, all plant material must meet all other quarantine or regulation requirements.

VI. RESTRICTIONS

A. Hold for Inspection.

Persons receiving or bringing hosts and possible carriers of woolly whiteflies from the woolly whitefly infested area into enforcing counties shall notify the agricultural commissioner upon arrival. Shipments shall be held for immediate inspection by the agricultural commissioner (Section 6501, Food and Agricultural Code).

B. California Nursery Stock Certificates cannot be used for hosts and possible carriers of woolly white fly destined to enforcing counties, such plant material must be shipped under blue tag.
